They look best with low watt bulbs and are pictured with 15 watt incandescents. These are European Fixtures and are designed to hang on some sort of hooks I believe from the back top rail. But I am not sure exactly how these would be installed in Europe or here as they were in this case a house in Short Hills NJ.. But the "hang on a hook" manner of installing was often used in the last century in antique American lighting by E.F Caldwell. Hopefully your electrician is familiar. The round brass plate just hangs on the wire (I do not know if a nipple was used in it's previous installation) but it was used here to cover outlet box. We also have available the matching cylinder glass small lantern shown in last picture to go with these. Thank you
