The PH 2/1 Wall Sconce from Louis Poulsen was designed by Poul Henningsen, who came up with the three-shade system in the 1920s for the purpose of directing light in a downward fashion. Utilizing a logarithmic spiral design, he achieved uniform light distribution across the shade's curve. This, combined with the glass's diffuse reflection, enabled effective glare and shadow control. Each shade equally reduces light output due to its distance from the source. This wall sconce is made accordingly, with a shade of mouthblown opal glass, which gives a tiered presentation. A durable, round metal backplate secures the sconce to your wall. The shade remains neatly suspended at the end of a slender arm. The sconce is lit by an LED, which is dimmable when used in tandem with an ELV dimmer.
