The Polifemo sconce is a composition of three natural elements: alabaster, brass, and mongoy wood, which complement each other through a geometric dialogue. The name of the piece refers to the Cyclope because of the giant eye glowing light from a hidden source. The light is filtered by translucent stone spreading a smooth light that became bright when it hits the brass element giving a sculptural effect. The brass is brushed with a wax coating to slow down the natural oxidation process, thus creating an alluring finish that ages gracefully over time.
