Formed from white glazed porcelain, this wall sconce features an organic, shield-shaped backplate with a slanted cone socket housing positioned asymmetrically toward the upper portion. Decorative linear ribbing runs across the surface, and small cut-out slots allow light to pass through and cast shadow patterns when illuminated. The socket accepts a European E14 candelabra base bulb; adapters and compatible bulbs are widely available online. Matching sconces are listed separately under item L686 SC.Porcelain and ceramic wall sconces of this type were produced widely across Europe during the 1960s and 1970s, often by smaller regional manufacturers supplying both residential and institutional markets. The sculptural, all-white ceramic form reflects a broader interest during that period in integrating lighting fixtures as objects in their own right rather than purely functional hardware.Shows age cracking to the glaze consistent with age and use. Otherwise in original condition. Another variation of this light also available (LU922449773972).
