WISO is a solid brass wall sconce that translates the growth patterns of natural crystals into a functional light sculpture. Observed closely, the piece reveals a composition that mirrors the way minerals form and accumulate in nature — from the microscopic lattice to the macroscopic cluster — rendered here in precisely worked brass with a combination of brushed, patinated and polished surface treatments.The outer brass frame houses a series of polished interior surfaces that, under ambient daylight, reflect the surrounding environment in warm tonal gradations. The interplay between the matte exterior and the mirrored interior creates a depth that shifts with viewing angle and light conditions throughout the day.When illuminated, the LED source produces a concentrated directional wall wash. Multiple WISO sconces installed in composition generate an intricate layered light pattern across the wall surface, while providing gentle ambient illumination to the room.
