Antique Quarter-Sawn Tiger Oak Arts & Crafts Wardrobe Cabinet C.1905–1915

Chairish

$1,795

Offered here is one piece from a long-preserved American quarter-sawn tiger oak bedroom suite dating to approximately 1905–1915. Carefully maintained within the same family for roughly fifty years, the original suite includes a bed, two mirrored dressers, a five-drawer tall chest, and this wardrobe, which has been thoughtfully converted with interior shelving for modern use while preserving its original exterior. Each piece is available individually, subject to prior sale. Constructed of beautifully figured quarter-sawn white oak, this wardrobe displays the clean geometric lines and restrained craftsmanship associated with the American Arts & Crafts movement. The broad door panel, substantial stiles, and striking tiger oak ray fleck create an elegant yet understated appearance that complements both period and contemporary interiors. While originally built as a clothes wardrobe, the interior has been professionally adapted with fixed shelving, making it exceptionally versatile as a linen cabinet, bookcase, pantry cupboard, office storage cabinet, or display cabinet. The original exterior remains intact, retaining its antique character while offering practical everyday functionality. The wardrobe retains its original brass latch hardware and key escutcheon. The original key is no longer present.
