Antique wedding cabinet dating from around 1750-1780, from the Swabian Alb, southern Germany. Its heavy, lived-in character and original paintings give it an incredible appearance. Both the design of the cabinet and the paintings are simple and primitive, but authentic and a typical example of folk art from the region. The upper panel depicts a "Dreispross," a floral decoration with religious significance, representing the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The cabinet has been thoroughly inspected and professionally restored, with an eye for originality and character. The construction is solid, the paintwork is worn but preserved, and the patina has been retained. The layout is still original, with one shelf and coat hooks. The cabinet can be locked with the original working lock. Old, sporadic woodworm traces have been checked and treated. Wedding cabinets like this are rarely found. The age, patina, and the way this cabinet has been painted make it an exclusive piece of furniture. 185 cm high, 116 cm wide, 48 cm deep.
