Late 19th century English cloak cupboard made from oak. This piece is exquisitely carved in great detail. The crown is molded with egg and dart detail and wonderfully carved dolphins, embellished with hand-turned finials. On the sides, there are Gothic brackets, also meticulously detailed in form, following down to a shelf atop corner curio doors, with handblown glass panels separated by mullions, which open to reveal shelving. The central part of the cupboard has two paneled doors, with all carved panels, one with the date 1897, and one with the initials S L. , all-over two drawers, which are serpentine in shape and molded. The doors open to reveal hand cast brass hooks. The piece is supported upon hand-carved paw feet.
