: 1960’s Blonde Birch Mid-Century Wardrobe. Superb practical piece of mid century storage by the Czech maker Nový domov Národný podnik Spišská Nová Vesy and designed by Frantisek Mezulanik. Czech was a large producer of high quality mid century furniture following the surge of modernism originated by the Bauhaus school. The main cabinet is made from well figured birch with a contrasting sapele interior. The whole cabinet is beautifully made sitting on arched birch legs. Our workshop has gently restored the cabinet, the doors close well and the cabinet is in exceptional original condition. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
