Antique French wingback chair upholstered in yellow silk damask. The frame is a dark-stained hardwood featuring a camel back crest rail with floral and foliate carving. Cabriole front legs and scrolling arms. Tall winged arms were meant to protect the sitter from drafts in historic buildings. . The chair is most likely a 20'th century reproduction, most likely 1940's- 1960's.
