A louis xvi period wingback armchair in carved wood, lacquered gray and painted, with a characteristic wraparound frame. the frame features moldings carved with floral and scrolling motifs; the legs are finely crafted cabriole style. The upholstery is made of damask silk with large floral patterns in shades of white and ivory beige, highlighted with gold braid. The seat has a separate, domed cushion. The underside reveals period jute webbing in relatively good condition, attesting to the authenticity of the craftsmanship. workshop report: visible wear to the gray paint on the back and frame.
