Rare pair of Wingback armchairs from an important chalet in the Italian Alps. Designed by the Italian Architect Gianfranco Frattini for the Cassina company in 1959. The fabric, in excellent conservation conditions, is still the original one selected by the owners in the early 1960s and has a truly refined texture and colour. The armchairs mod. 877, never used because they were located in a transition point between two wings of the chalet, catch the eye for their unusual and original shape, for their sculptural presence, for their sophisticated singularity. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
