Very rare pair of 18th century Italian Louis XIV caned fauteuils. The rectangular caned back with molded frame and shaped projecting crest rail with centered carved cresting of facing heraldic eagles, joined to framed caned seat with pelmet shaped apron by scrolling molded arms on vasiform supports, raised on molded cabriole front legs ending in in-turned scrolling feet and joined by flat shaped "H" stretche. First half of the 18th century. Original finish. Newer cane seats. Overall dimensions 51 1/2" high x 27 1/2" wide x 20 1/2" deep. Seat height is 18 1/2"
