This is an antique elm wood chair made in China in the late 19th century. It is elm throughout with paneled seat, stretcher base, and carved designs. It was purchased for $1250 in 1990 from Gump’s Department Store in San Francisco (copy of receipt included as authentication). The natural neutral color and circular and s-shapes make it a pleasing decorative element for any style room.
