This is a pair of early Qing Dynasty chairs. The wood is Ironwood (Tielimu). From China - Zhejiang/Shanghai The design is Ming. The Qing dynasty furniture makers often continued the Ming designs. The mat seats were restored by traditional Chinese workshop in the 1990s. Provenance - Bought at 1994 auction from China Guardian Auction House. The auction certificate is enclosed.
