Mid-Century Model Bratislava Armchair By Ludvik Volak For Drevopodnik Holesov, 1960s

Chairish

$791

Completely restored iconic armchair named "Bratislava" as it was originally produced for the airport in Bratislava city. Designed by Ludvik Volak, this armchair was produced by Drevopodnik Holesov in 1960s. The base of the armchair is made of bended woodlaminate, a new material produced by pressing together wooden veneer pieces. This allowed the designer to create amazing shapes. The seat of the armchair is upholstered in bright red faux leather with square stitching. The whole armchair was restored completely. The wood is refurbished and restored. The seat has new upholstery, new stitching and new materials. Made into an original state to keep up the amazing design of the past. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
