This 1409 armchair was designed by André Cordemeyer for Gispen in the late 1950s. Known for its clean lines and light appearance, this model is presented here in the popular compact ladies' version. The design is supported by a slender steel frame, creating an airy silhouette. The armchair has been reupholstered in a soft petrol blue hue that evokes tranquility and refinement and effortlessly combines with mid-century, Japanese, and modern interiors. The new upholstery offers comfortable seating without detracting from the sleek lines of the design. The wenge armrests have been carefully restored in our workshop. They have been hand-sanded and treated with a matte furniture oil, beautifully revealing the warm wood grain. The metal frame has been cleaned and finished with a protective wax layer. The armchair stands stably on rubber feet to protect the floor and is ready for daily use. Upon purchase, you will receive maintenance instructions with matching furniture oil, specifically designed for the care of the renovated wooden armrests, ensuring they remain in optimal condition. An iconic Gispen armchair where comfort, materials, and design naturally blend. Height 80 cm, Width 63 cm, Depth 78 cm, Seat height 40 cm
