Rob Parry designed a large number of pieces of furniture for Meubelindustrie Gelderland in the 1950s and 1960s, including the Model Lotus 1611 lounge armchair. The frame is made of square stainless steel. Both the matte black wooden frame and the matte black armrests are made of beech. We completely restored the armchair. First, we resprayed the matte black frame and armrests. The seat and backrest cushions are made of four separate pieces, which we replaced using an ocean blue woven fabric. We added zippers to the covers. The coil springs of the backrest are in very good condition. Even the original Rotex rubber webbing on the seat is in good condition. Rob Parry used multiple materials in the design of this armchair; this combination was already considered innovative at the time. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
