Sirocco leather safari lounge chair. an iconic mid-century chair in black leather, with rosewood frame. This chair is made under license from arne norell by 'scanform' in colombia in 1965. The authenticity has been confirmed by email by arne norell’s daughter, marie norell. many of the 'scanform' edition chairs were exported to the usa and the netherlands antilles and are very rare. this specific chair was sold to a store in aruba. a dutch lady and her family were living in aruba. They bought the chair (with three other black chairs) in this small furniture store in oranjestad, the capital city of aruba, around 1970. after being a teacher on a girls’ school she moved back to her motherland, with her family and the chair. a great story of an iconic chair that traveled from colombia to holland. the chair is fully restored and received the love and care it deserves. The rosewood has been treated by a professional wood restoration company, cleaned, and polished with beeswax. all the leather has been cleaned and slightly painted where necessary. To retain the durability of this fantastic chair, the leather has been treated with a leather nutrition oil multiple times. ⁠the stitches that required re-stitching have been repaired by hand with the saddle stitch. This strong stitch will assure that the chair remain fully functioning for many more years.
