This late 18th century Chinese inset leg wine table is characterized by the lightness of its proportions, its finely executed detailing and the lustrous wear of its original lacquer. The auspicious carved hanging ruyi cloud heads at the tops of its legs convey good fortune. The table is masterfully joined together with mortise and tenon construction, without nails or screws. We acquired the table from a prolific American collector who lived most of his adult life in China and Taiwan. Additional Dimensions Table apron to floor: 29.5"
