Anglo Indian rosewood portable folding and expandable book rack with bone inlay and veneer, ebony and metal inlay. This exquisite and ingeniously designed piece is one of my favorite recent acquisitions. The two ends are covered in bone veneer and beautifully decorated with circles, geometric and triangular inlay. The rosewood tray also with intricate mosaic inlay. All set on four round metal feet. The base is expandable to fit more books for the traveling scholar, the sides fold down when not in use. A sweet and wonderful object that is also a work of art. A singular item likely made for a member if the royalty or noble family's student or scholar.
