Two-body Louis XIV sideboard in red cherry, from the Bain de Bretagne region (Ile et Vilaine). It opens with 2 doors decorated with 2 medallions in the upper part, 2 drawers, the one on the right lockable, the one on the left with an iron pull handle, and 2 doors with medallions in the lower part. Molded ‘crushed’ gendarme hat cornice, knockout doors and double paneled sides. The keyholes and plugs are made of iron and are all original, as are the interior locks and closures. The interior of the upper part is lined with 3 oak shelves. The back and bottoms of the drawers are also in oak. It rests on rounded front legs and straight rear legs which have been restored. Period: 18th century, around 1760. Perfect condition after restoration, stripping and waxed patina in our workshop.
