Louis Xiv Cherry Buffet, 1740s

Chairish

$8,139

Buffet Two Regional Bodies in Blond Cherry, Louis XIV period. This Diminutive-type storage unit is by definition made up of an upper body that is less wide and shallower than the one on which it rests. Each of these elements opens with two doors, cut with moldings and flat strips, just like the sides of the furniture. They have inputs of locks and times in vintage iron. They lock and this buffet is supplied with its two original keys. The leaves of the first body are, in the upper, slightly curved and have amazing decorative punch. The dormant features in his center a carved circle, ornament that is also found on his angles with cut sides, characteristic of the reign of the Sun King. The interiors offer, for the upper element, two shelves 37 cm deep and, for the lower part, of a single, larger, 57 cm. All are removable and placed on fixed cleats. This two -bodies buffet is topped with a large, richly ornate double cornice and its low crosspiece is molded. The rear is in oak, designed with slightly worked amounts and panels, as for a ceremonial furniture. The whole rests on two rounded front feet and two straight rear feet. We will highlight the elegance of the lines of this buffet two bodies from the Loire Valley, the pretty shade of its wood, and its authenticity in its entirety. ********** Era: 1740 Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
