Electra Ceiling Lamp By Giuliana Gramigna For Artemide, Italy, 1968

Chairish

$2,163

Electra ceiling light by Artemide, designed by Giuliana Gramigna in 1968. The white opaline glass diffuser rests on a painted metal base, featuring the characteristic organic shape of three overlapping elements that allows for soft, even light diffusion. The Electra was published in Domus magazine in October 1968 and is considered a classic of 1960s Italian design, which fits elegantly even into contemporary contexts. The lamp is in excellent condition: it works perfectly with the four supplied E27 bulbs, and has no chips on the glass or obvious marks on the metal base. Although it is a ceiling light, it can also be adapted as a table lamp. It is unbranded, a feature common to early Artemide production. Dimensions: diffuser diameter 55 cm height 40 cm metal base diameter 37 cm This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, Up to 250V (Europe/UK Standard). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
