A most unusual find, this substantial pitch pine baroque-style centre table has a thick top, serpentine on all four sides with an incised band to the top edge. The top unlocks on its original lock (the key is a replacement) and slides backwards to reveal a deep storage well, separated into four compartments. The deep aprons are decoratively panelled on all sides and are mortised and pegged into the graceful oak cabriole legs, square-banded at the knee.
