Stracciatella is the inaugural piece from Tellurico’s ongoing Telluride project—an award-winning series of sculptural vessels created in the studio’s proprietary Volcanic Porcelain. The bowl combines material innovation with geological research, bringing together ultra-white elastic porcelain and volcanic stones collected from the Phlegraean Fields in Southern Italy.During firing, the volcanic inclusions react with the porcelain, creating spontaneous fractures, textures, and surface variations. Guided by the natural behaviour of the materials, each piece develops its own unique character, making every edition one of a kind.Produced in a limited edition, Stracciatella occupies the space between sculpture and functional object, exploring the relationship between craftsmanship, geological processes, and contemporary design.In 2021, Stracciatella received the Fondazione Officine Saffi Award in Milan. The work has since been exhibited internationally, including at Emma Scully Gallery in New York, Mint Gallery in London, the ADI Design Museum in Milan, the Hong Kong Design Institute, and the Italian Pavilion in Beijing.
