Fine quality antique English handcrafted Sack-back Windsor chair. It has a comfortable saddle seat, pierced back splat, curved crinoline stretcher and bentwood frame with spindles. The crinoline stretcher is the most sought after design in Windsor chairs. The seat is crafted of elm wood, and the spindles and stretcher of yew wood. It has hand turned legs and remains of original black paint. Original patina and lovely alligatoring along the top of the chair. Solid and sturdy. We found this brilliant elm and yew wood chair in a small village north of London.
