An authentic Alpine peasant chair made of solid wood, dating from the 18th century, a product of traditional rural craftsmanship in the Alpine regions (Switzerland, Tyrol, or Savoy). The wood, likely walnut or cherry, displays a warm, golden patina beautifully acquired over centuries, attesting to its long history of use. Its violin-shaped plank back, topped with a round dado rail and adorned with a central heart-shaped cutout, is the unmistakable hallmark of traditional Alpine craftsmanship. The solid seat with rounded edges rests on four slightly angled, tapered legs, joined by a system of pegged tenons entirely free of metal—proof of authentic craftsmanship and a bygone era.
