Argyle Chair By C.r. Mackintosh For Cassina, 1970s

Chairish

$2,975

In 1897, Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed the interior furnishings for the Creston Tea Room on Argyle Street. This was the birth of one of the most iconic chairs of the avant-garde style of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This was the first major commission for one of the most representative architects of the Glasgow school, who was also an active participant in the Vienna Secession movement. In 1973, Cassina decided to re-release this exceptional chair with the seat upholstered in an exclusive fabric. This marked and numbered example is in excellent vintage condition and still has the seat fabric intact. It shows some light signs of use and age. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
