First designed by Giuseppe Gaëtan Descalzi, and produced since the early 19th century in Chiavari, a Ligurian Town in Italy. Chiavari is a small town at the coast of Italy that is famous for their delicate furniture production Gio Ponti was inspired by this iconic chair design, and created his own Leggera and Super Leggera chair after studying the Chiavari chair's stance, proportions and overall feel. This pair of chairs is ideal for a luxurious vanity setting, as boudoir chairs, or as a side chairs; we also love Chiavari chairs when they flank a credenza or buffet.
