Excellent Pre-Owned Condition. Small chairs, for me, have always been somewhat of an accessory piece around our home; you can never have too many. A good one fits into any space! Small or large, in and out of doors, you can move it around from room-to-room, space-to-space, to meet the need of the moment, whether it been seating or décor. This early 20th-century beauty’s charm will make a fabulous statement in a guest room, child’s bedroom or entryway. The lovely rounded front needlepoint upholstered seat rests gracefully on ring turned bobbin front legs and slightly splayed slender saber legs on the rear that rise up to form the chair stiles. The curved back stiles are complemented by a hand carved rosette crest rail and a scalloped center rung. The eight cross stretchers on the sides, back and front provide excellent stability and structural integrity. We believe this chair to be crafted from solid walnut wood with a hand rubbed mid-tone walnut stain and wax finish. The burgundy hued textile needlepoint seat has a circular floral and foliate center bouquet motif in varying shades of yellow, red and pink (carnation blush, scarlet), sky blue and sage green. This beauty measures as follows: Overall: 32” x 17” x 16” H/W/D Seat: 16½” x 15½” W/D; seat-to-floor height 17¼” Back: 16½” x 14¼” H/W Weight: approximately 8 lbs. Structurally sound and in overall excellent condition with age-appropriate wear. Maker is unknown. We believe this beauty was made in the United States sometime in the early 20th-century.
