Traditional antique mountain chair from southern Germany. This distinctive and rustic chair is entirely handmade and assembled using mortise-and-tenon joints. This piece is crafted from pine and was originally painted white. The old paint has worn away in many places, giving the chair a beautiful patina. Minimal signs of wear are visible, such as a few old woodworm holes scattered throughout. These have, of course, been inspected and treated. The chair is sturdy and suitable for daily use. It dates from around 1800–1850. Seat height: 44 cm; back height: 88 cm; width: 44 cm; depth: 37 cm.
