In the early 1980s, the Swiss company "chmoebel" experimented with a series of plywood furniture. “chmoebel” was one of the first companies in Switzerland to work with laser-cut plywood parts, primarily for seating furniture. These were produced in small series or as prototypes. Our chair comes from one of these test series and is labeled "chmoebel Prototype" at the bottom. According to information from one of the two company founders, only one example was built in this version. The plywood parts were stained mahogany and then assembled. Even though the parts of the chair were simply plugged together and not glued, the chair is surprisingly stable and comfortable. Good condition. Few signs of use. Seat height 47cm.
