Vintage Bent Plywood Chair From Thonet, 1950s

Chairish

$672

Beautiful treasure This beautifully designed plywood chair is a mystery to us! Marked on the underside with an old THONET label, the design bears a distant resemblance to František Jirák's "Lollipop" chair for Tatra and is very similar to the Tonneau chair designed by Pierre Guariche for Steiner in 1954, but according to Thonet, it is a rare model, the Wannenstuhl 661 designed by Günther Eberle and produced from 1954 to 1959 Either way, it is clearly a rare and beautifully designed model with plenty of vintage charm! The chair offered here is in very good used condition. Apart from slight signs of wear, there is a small defect in the veneer on the underside (see detailed image). Height: approx. 80 cm Width: approx. 54 cm Depth: approx. 57 cm Seat height: approx. 43 cm This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
