beautiful italian chandelier designed by oscar torlasco made in italy in the 1960s. Known for his lamps that diffuse soft light through optical glass lenses, the roman designer oscar torlasco (1934 - 2004) established himself in the '50s and '60s designing for several italian companies specializing in lighting, such as esperia, stilux, stilkronen. Oscar torlasco won the italian design award, the “compasso d’oro” (golden compass) for his genova 4053 street lighting in 1959. Metal, the common denominator of his pieces, is also used by torlasco for lamps and chandeliers with a much more eclectic taste, generally combined with marble, murano glass and crystal. Metal chandelier has 6 crystal glass “optic lens”. the lamp is in very good vintage condition. dimensions: width: 40 cm / 15.75 inches height: 70 cm /27.6 inches lamp requires european 6 x e14 lightbulb and compatible with the usa e12 socket. Works with standard bulbs, led or halogen, 220v in europe and 110v in the usa. up to 250v (europe/uk standard).the wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
