Elegant and authentic French Art Deco alabaster pendant chandelier, masterfully carved in a graceful bowl silhouette with sculpted rim surround. The bowl shape is accented with finely etched Art Deco floral fan motifs, resembling stylized lotus or palmette sprays with flowing linear stems and rounded petal tips. These delicate carved details complement the radiating fluted cabochon design, with softly scalloped segments extending outward in a sunburst formation, adding depth and symmetry and enhancing the fixture’s elegant period character. The natural stone features striking but subtle veining in contrasting dove gray and charcoal interwoven with subtle undertones and striations which evoke the intricate patterns and hues shaped by natural geological forces, and highlight the stone's organic beauty and timeless sophistication. The background color in white and juxtaposition of the grey mineral deposits create exciting patterns and distinctive translucencies caused by the natural veins of the alabaster. The bowl is suspended from a contemporary matte gold silk-style twisted rope armature with brass flower rosette decorative elements and finished with the original stepped motif alabaster canopy having an underlined brass canopy. An appealing semi gloss surface sheen adorns the deep bullbous form of the pendant. The chandelier embodies the elegance and artistry of early 20th-century French design, making it a captivating focal point for any refined interior.
