Hettier & Vincent A rare French 1925-1930 art deco chandelier by Hettier et Vincent in nickel plated bronze. The fixture holds a beautiful ball shaped shade in thick molded-pressed glass. This model is always unsigned and represented in the catalogue of Verreries des Hanots. Beautiful pattern of butterflies and flowers. Many sellers place these globes on whatever cheap fixture or base and offer their lamp as Hettier et Vincent. Which is nonsense, this model shade was used by other lamp factories than H&V and the lamp can only be called Hettier & Vincent when it has a H&V mounting ... much harder to get by than the globes. The lamp is represented in the Hettier & Vincent catalogue supplement #1 plate 131. The nickel-plated solid brass or bronze fixture is of excellent quality. Very fine detailed work as can be expected from Hettier & Vincent. Note the ingenious and patented system of the H&V chain which allows the electrical wire to run as it were inside the chain. The chandelier has a drop of 48 cm (18,9") and the ball has a diameter of about 6,7 inches. Of course I can shorten the chain on request. It is in excellent condition. I have re-nickeled and patinated the mounting and it comes rewired with a US candelabra base socket.
