Italian Rococo Style Coffee Table

Created for The Rothschild Collection - “Wheels of Fortune” 2006 © Of overall Italian rococo design manufactured in American Hard Maple with rubbed ebonized finish highlighted with antiqued parcel gilt and silvered detail, the rectangular top with scalloped edge and outset rounded corners inset to each end with a sculpted circular medallion with foliate center surrounded by circular fan and lobed carving, with foliate spandrels, each with a beveled diamante glass top, all above a waved frieze carved with foliate clasps, on deep cabriole legs ending in hoof feet. Nothing is more exciting than seeing something unexpected. This coffee table was designed to pay tribute to carvers all over the world. Most of the time carving is not really showcased, but here I wanted to highlight the art of the carver.
