19th century English oak console table with exquisite carving. The table is signed Edwards and Roberts Wardour St London. Edwards and Roberts were one of the premier English furniture makers in the 19th century. the backsplash is expertly hand carved with a lion head on the center, flanked by swags with leaves and flowers. The table height is 32.75, and the table is surrounded with a beveled and hand carved decorated edge, following down to a carved apron, containing a single drawer on one end. The table is supported on hand turned barley twist legs in the front, ending in carved bun feet, and paneled legs in the back, for easy placement against a wall.
