This is a traditional Chinese altar table from Shanxi Province. It is almost 200 years old. It has the single board table top with everted flanges, recessed panel legs that has a pretty openwork design. The apron has pretty spandrels, and there are beaded edges throughout. The table has similar work on both sides, so it can stand alone or used against a wall. Through the years the lacquer finish on the table has peeled off on the flanges, and on the areas where the joints meet the table. Otherwise it is a solid table in need of TLC. My source in China has the same thought process as I, this table can be saved. So I am offering this to anyone who wish to save an antique altar table.
