This shallow altar table once resided in a 19th-century Chinese home, laden with food offerings and incense as a home altar for ancestor worship. Simple and classic, the small table has a waisted design with a floating panel top, everted flanges and straight legs ending in hoof feet. Ideal today as a narrow console table, the minimal form is left undecorated save for its black lacquer finish and beaded edge tracing the legs and apron.
