Back in the day when dry goods were sold in barrels and boxes, the demijohn bottle was used for goods that couldn’t be transported in wood. It was the vessel of choice for merchants of spirits and wine. Today, our handcrafted modern take on the demijohn jar employs the same skills used by glassmiths centuries ago. Made in small workshops in northern China, Lucy is mouth-blown from recycled glass. The rim of the jar is created by adding a rolled layer of glass to the molten bottle, for a finished look.
