Chinese green turtle gongshi, a riverstone in the form of a turtle from Anhui province, China. Has a waxy, olive green surface with glossy highlights, copious scattered pitting, anfractuous voids and crevices, all smoothed by river waters, mounted on a polished, custom fitted, Chinese hongmu base. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century. Wood stand: 7/8" high x 6 1/4" long x 4 1/4" deep stone: 2 1/4" high x 5 5/8" wide x 4 1/4" deep.
