Chinese Taihang mountain stratified gongshi. From Yu county, Heibi province, China. A cloud shaped, layered, pale orange stone with white, gray and umber highlights, with jagged quartzite edges, voids and crevices, mounted on a polished, custom fitted, Chinese hongmu base. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century. Wood stand: 2" high x 7 3/4" wide x 4 3/4" deep, stone: 5" high x 8 1/4" wide x 5 1/8" deep.
