The scene captures the dramatic confrontation of armored commanders before their troops, with banners and tents in the distance. The plate is marked to the reverse with the Sèvres interlaced L’s and the date letter for 1788. While the marks reference an original Sèvres date cypher, attribution is to Sèvres style, 19th century, reflecting the historicist revival taste of the period. The plate remain in great condition, the cobalt and gilding vibrant, making it ideal as statement wall hanging, cabinet display, or as part of a curated collection of historicist or courtly subject porcelain.
