This pair of stone lions comes from China, where it was made during the late Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Each lion is carved from a massive block of stone and sits on a stand that features lightly carved drapery patterns. The lions are carved in a traditional Ming style, with cloud effect for their mane reminding us of their celestial nature.
