Chairish

$774

Design: Louis Kalff Manufacturer: Philips Country: Netherlands Period: 1950s Style: mid-century modern The original “Golf” desk lamp designed by Louis Kalff for Philips – an iconic example of Dutch modernism. Its dynamic, sculptural form with a distinctive “horned” base and elegantly curved brass arm gives it lightness and expressiveness. The mint-colored aluminum shade with a subtle texture contrasts beautifully with the black cast iron base and brass arm. This model is prized by collectors for its recognizable, organic lines and timeless aesthetics. Condition: Very good condition, with natural signs of wear appropriate for its age. Minor abrasions and patina on the brass and base. Original switch in the cord. The lamp is in working order and lights up (recommended inspection of the installation in case of intensive use). Materials: lacquered aluminum (shade) brass (arm) cast iron (base) Colors: mint green black golden brass It is a perfect element for mid-century, modernist, and eclectic interiors. It works well as a desk lamp, night lamp, or decorative accent in the living room or study. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
