An outstanding antique Georgian Period leather top writing table / desk. It was made in England, it dates from around the 1800-1820 period. It is of superb quality, it has a lovely, compact and quite unusual design. It stands on beautifully turned legs with brass casters, the drawers have high quality brass handles & the main drawer has the original Bramah Lock which is always a sign of a top quality item. There are dummy drawers with brass handles on the sides and on the back too, so this looks wonderful from all angles. There is a gorgeous inset leather writing surface, the wood has a beautiful colour tone and patina. We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age, with some normal wear and patina remaining beneath the polish here and there.
