An outstanding antique Victorian writing table / desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1880-1890 period. This is of wonderful quality and is a very useful size, with lovely proportions. It stands on beautifully turned baluster legs, terminating in brass casters, there is an ebonised trim around the lower edge of the top and accentuating the legs as well. There are two drawers with nicely turned handles and fine, hand cut dovetailed joints. There is an inset leather top with gold tooled edges, the leather has a beautiful colour which compliments the wood nicely. The back is nicely finished, so this can be used as a free standing item. We have had this recently re-polished, it is in excellent condition for its age, with a gorgeous all round patina.
