The brass bail pulls are original to the piece and carry the warm patina of genuine age. The central lock on the frieze drawer retains its original keyhole escutcheon. The shaped scalloped skirt below the kneehole is a quality detail — one of the touches that separates serious revival production from lesser examples. The bun feet are turned with good proportion and sit confidently beneath the weight of the case. The desk's back is finished in walnut veneer, so it can stand freely in a room. A protective glass top has been fitted over the work surface — practical and removable. No maker's label has been found, which is typical of quality American and English decorator-trade production of the interwar period.
